Biography Long time influenced by bands like Kraftwerk, Spliff, Yello, Depeche Mode, Jean-Michelle Jarré and others. The sound of voide is intentionally simplistic and mixes 80's type songs with the 21st century.
Started listening to Kraftwerk, Jarré, The Art of Noise, Spliff and Yello in the early eighties - this very much raised my interest for electronic music and it has stuck with me ever since. I like simple songs, many of todays songs are so streamlined, almost overproduced and packed full of things happening that I get tired of listening to them. I guess that I am forerver stuck in the early era of synthesizers, where they still had their mystique and charm. As for my music, some songs are very smooth and perfect for relaxation (like Star Diaries, Dream Machine and All Systems Go). Many people have said that they like to have my music in the background when they are doing something else, it provides a nice environment. Others listen intensely to the songs and find all the goodies I have embedded into the songs to give them that feel of the 80s and early synth era. Other songs (like Money Control, Phenomenon) are filled with more energy with upbeat beats, distorted sounds and a more club like feeling to them. Autumn is a track that mixes soft strings with a modern beat - generating, in my opinion, an excellent mood of Autumn. Computer Nation brings up a very current topic and it is also the song with the longest lyrics that I have written so far. Dream Machine is the ultimate 80s pop synth song with very electronic drums and a nice atmosphere. -History- It all began in 1984 when I bought my very first synthesizer (a Casio CZ-1000) and starting playing music for fun with some friends. At an age of 17 in 1987 I founded my first band 'Sound Machine' together with U. J. and we composed a lot of experimental songs, we also had our very first concert in Sweden. 1989 we played in Uppsala at "Ungdomens Hus" in Sweden together with other bands like for example Mobile Homes. The Music at this time was heavily inspired by bands like Front242, Kraftwerk, Depeche mode, Laibach and such. Me and and my fiend U. J. continued to compose songs from the 1990s util today where we occasionally meet to play music that we both enjoy. Most of our songs (and 3 albums released on MP3.com at the time) was under the band name 'ULDA'. We focused on electronic music with a mix of body music, acid, psychological and experimental. 2006 I decided I wanted to actively continue with my music writing and production and I started to work under the name 'Voide'. In March 2007 the first Voide album was released with me as the artist and the producer. The current goal is to release a new album by 2007/2008. Thanks for your visit! |
